I'd feel like we did about as well as anyone could hope if we hired either of those guys within 2-3 days. I think Lanning is about as close to Kirby as exists currently, is young and has a chance to pick right up where things left off. On the other hand, I think Lane will absolutely attack this job with everything he has and is ready to prove once and for all he has grown up. And he's been fantastic at FAU and Ole Miss (but if he brings Golding back I'll kick him in the nuts). Also, I just like Lane. And I'd like to have him as my head coach assuming he's relatively successful and wins games.
Exactly - go back and look what other programs have paid guys to go away the last 5 years. We haven't had to do that, nor are we having to do that now.
Trying to sustain the level of execution Saban has is next to impossible. Kirby looks awful and I don't know how long he can sustain it at that level. Wouldn't surprise me to see him call it quits due to burnout well before anybody can imagine

Since I already knew a long time ago I’ve had time to process and I’ve already moved on to being fired up for the possibilities moving forward. If we can get Lanning we’re going to crush it.
The longer it takes for an official announcement from the university, the more it feels like we are waiting on signing the new guy.
