right, the vent was on one side and the flowers and mirror were across the room. Then he goes to the sheriffs office and sits at his desk and writes the note and puts it in the file he leaves on the desk Just seemed like it was a clue for something.
Really enjoying this and episode 5 was good but I do feel like they're on the verge of creating too many storylines that things can become jumbled. Spoiler Did no one in the whole fucking Silo see what happened on the monitor of the outside when the generator kicked back on? I can't believe it hasn't even been hinted at.
It showed what outside really looks like based on what we saw from Holston and his wife's POV right before they died, blue skies with grass and trees. It was literally just a flicker but I paused it and you could tell.
Some of these episodes are glacially slow. Fantastic start to the series so I’ll stick with it but can get a little boring
Interesting. I thought episode 4 was slow but all the others I thought were paced well and kept me very engaged. Really enjoying this so far.
wonder how he knew what was behind there also, the nautilus shell also looks like the staircase in the silo
I've been watching weekly, it's an interesting show but I'm also very firmly on the opinion it's moving a bit slowly. They revealed a lot in the first two episodes and now it feels like a letdown at the pace it's going.
I would agree it’s going slow, still enjoying it. Last few eps should speed up iirc from the book (I probably don’t)
Like the entire first half of the book from what I remember was really slow and then it just kicked into warp speed.
3 episodes in and enjoying this, but holy fuck it has to be the darkest show I've ever watched. I realize the setting requires it, but some of the scenes are so dark the only way I can see anything is if I'm watching at night and have all the lights off in the room.
As someone who has a P-Series Vizio that is a great tv but has a major issue with dark scenes, this is a killer. I get so mad when a show uses dark scenes excessively.
I’m usually right there with everyone having issues with dark scenes, but this show hasn’t bothered me.
there's been like a scene or two tops where I thought they could've given us a little better lighting but overall...yeah
I read this series twice and have no fucking clue what the syndrome is, it was years ago but man my memory is going to shit
that's because it wasn't a part of the book series and is merely a plot device used for the tv series
Well that cliffhanger was something. I think those guys are either what’s behind the janitorial door or maybe outside of the silo entirely.
What are you watching it through? We had issues with House of Dragons and Better Call Saul running it through our Apple TV but now I got the PS5 and haven’t had any issues. Same tv which is pretty old.
will have to watch tonight, in my zeal to be a fucking know-it-all I failed to remember that they've already deviated from the subject material a little. Nothing wrong with that, a lot of times it's a cleaner way of telling the story.
I’ve read the 3 books. Everything ITT looks to be show speculation. Granted, they’ve changed/added stuff not in the books and the pacing is different.
Good stuff. Just didn't want to click on one and see a definitive answer on the current state of the outside world. Kinda enjoying the debate on that + the screens/cleaning + suits/cleaners and why they're in silos in the first place. Finding out those answers would take a lot of fun out of the show, so any book readers (that still have working memory of the series) plz mark book spoilers as such if they occur. Thanks and bless you
We did too. Internal debate on whether or not the "file" they found on that hard drive was really just a casual recording of the outside world or a "file" that they use to play in the suits visor or something when they go outside to clean. Doesn't make a ton of sense for there to be a random video of the real outside world that we saw in a hard drive that has schematics for the silo. Makes more sense that it's an old video that they use for some sort of propaganda-ish/manipulative purpose. Kinda curious how fast/when they're going to reveal more people who rank up the "THEY" hierarchy. They definitely made it feel like Judicial/The black woman was at the top of the food chain but after this weeks episode I guess that either Common and his janitorial staff work for the "real" power or it's some much broader like there's lots of silo "countries" and an omniscient silo illuminati that actually runs stuff.
They’re pretty quick/good reads. Probably going to re-read them for the first time after the series ends.
same. It’s been so long I’ve forgotten a lot of stuff so it’s like new material when watching show But def gonna read them all again
I could see reading them after the season wraps at some point. Current reading task that I’m slacking on is finishing Dune before Part 2 comes out
That was a very strong episode, finally getting a little payoff on some of the things they've set up.
Makes sense that the head of IT would be towards the top of the food chain in the Silo. Dufrense been a little suspect all along esp since the mayor died. Boyscout Billings has grown on me. assuming we only have 2 episodes left there doesn’t seem like enough time to flesh out a lot of the bigger picture questions. Unless they just do a big “answer dump” from a scene with the hard drive contents
It’s been renewed for another season so they may split the first book into 2 seasons. I don’t know how they’re splitting the 3 books up.
It seems about 98% likely that the season ends with a shot of her face as she's going out to clean and she takes her helmet off and gasps for air and cut to black.
I will say I’m pretty curious how they end this season. The first book was really just a long short story to set up the universe. The core plot is still very much intact but I’m guessing for pacing purposes they’ve added a lot of characters and material to get to us to the same end point of the first book.not complaining at all, really digging it so far….just waiting patiently for it to really get going I’m very looking forward to my first time rewatching this season especially Holston and his wife material
Thought that was a real good episode of the show. Wondered when they’d reveal that and I thought that was well done. Excited to see where this goes the rest of the season
God damn that's a good episode of TV. 45 minutes never moves faster than in shows like this and Severance.
