Spoiler didn't we see a preview early in the season of infected animals that mutated? I assume under the floor is a super mutated worm or similar creature
Episode 4 was kind of a let down after episode 3. Was nice to start seeing Joel and Ellie forging a relationship.
The amount of online discourse and backlash I saw to the character/actress prior to watching the ep made me think she was going to be the worst character ever and ruin a whole episode. She was there for 5 minutes and seemed perfectly reasonable, given the situation. What the hell? as for the episode, it ended so abruptly I was stunned. Definitely setting up the action of this coming EP, but a lot of quality time with Joel and Ellie. Was a big fan of the puns and how terrible they were
I agree on Kathleen. I assumed it would be her primarily the whole episode similar to Bill and Frank but it was still very heavy Joel and Ellie. I think I was a little let down because I wasnt expecting it to end where it did.
I agree. She was in the show for like 5 mins. Plus she was awesome in Yellowjackets I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt
Outside of the Kathleen character being absolutely awful, and the middle earth troll, was a better episodes than last week. Still think it has its faults, but it’s a pretty decent show
I cannot remember for the life of me, but the not funny blonde actress played a villain in a dumb movie I watched and I cannot remember her name or the name of the movie. It’s the same exact character
I thought that episode was awesome. I’m sorry on the erasable slate toy absolutely killed me and her entire change in temperament was just amazing. She is a really good actress.
I was just looking at episode ratings and that was the highest rated one. Lowest rated was episode 3. Bunch of fucking homophobes we live with.
Just watched the last episode. Couple things: 1. That young girl clicker was creepy as fuck. 2. The ending was heart breaking.
I think it was a lot “she doesnt look like the character!!1!” And dumb shit like that. It’s the same reason ep3 is the lowest rated on IMDb or whatever. “Missed opportunity not doing it like the video game!!” Shut the fuck up
I knew one of them was going to be bitten, but didn’t see it going the way it did in the morning. That was heartbreaking.
I thought Bella Ramsey's Ellie was a little too annoying in the first two episodes but she's been really great in the last two. They've really emphasized her empathy and endurance that she has in the game. Imo her best attribute is her unflappability. One again, can't wait for the next episode.
My first thought too. The actor playing Sam actually being deaf in real life and getting that opportunity is fantastic. Ellie is awesome and Joel was a badass with the marksmanship.
I'm curious if the other actors were deaf as well. In the post-credits video, Craig Mazin brought up the idea of Sam being deaf to Neil Druckmann and Neil was mad he hadn't thought of it.
This has already been said, but it's kinda blowing my mind that the shitty dude QC playtester in Mythic Quest is actually an incredibly accomplished and talented writer/director.
The 5 they saw were all deaf, but that’s why it was such a small number. They had to put out a call on Twitter, thought they’d get 80 and got 5
And his previous credits were scary movies 3 and 4 and hangover 2 and 3, among others. How he convinced HBO to let him make Chornobyl is beyond me
Yea, I’m pretty confused by the negative reactions. The whole point is that such an extreme scenario would change people drastically, but there would still be remnants of the person they were. Starting to think some of you don’t know ball.
It is a bloater and one of the toughest enemies in the game. They're people that have been infected the longest. The fungus forms a hard shell protecting the body. It would have been odd to not include it at some point. They're pretty rare in the game. I doubt we'll see many of them in the show.
I think my biggest issue is that it contradicted what Joel (I think) said earlier in the show about the fungus just wanting to infect everything and doesn't have feelings, but it took a guy and ripped his head off out of anger with no desire to infect him. maybe that original quote was wrong and these things evolve to contain some human emotion, but that wasn't the sense I got and the bloater clearly acted with emotion in that scene.
Yeah no idea on that but we're talking about a fungus zombie so not sure everything is going to make a lot of sense. Only in universe explanation I can think of is that anything the fungus sees as a threat it destroys.
Because there is so much focus on the main characters and their relationships up until they poured out of the hole in ep 5 I had briefly forgot about the infected. Just as much focus for their characters is freeing themselves from FEDRA or rogue groups they are just as much a threat to Joel and Ellie as the infected.
