not to speak for Redav but this isn't just some random actor or celebrity with shitty opinions thats easily hand waived away. Chappelle has been deemed a sort of voice for a large segment of the African American community by much of the media (and if you've watched his transformation the last couple of years by Dave himself) which greatly magnifies the consequences of his message

It very well may have in many instances. I can't speak for the trans community or sexual assault victims and was merely pointing out that its so much easier to "separate art from the artist" when that artist isn't revered by many as a cultural icon - whether that be Cosby, Chappelle or anyone else.

Can somebody link me the comment where Redav apparently said that Dave’s statements are worse than Cosby’s rapes? Looked to me like he just said that they victimized more people, which seems inarguably true.
how can you argue someone has more victims but also that the act wasn’t worse. “DC’s words victimized millions but I’m not saying his actions were worse” doesn’t make sense to me.
I clearly wasn't comparing the two apples-to-apples when I made my point. I used Cosby because of his reach and perception in the community prior to his exposure. My brain can't comprehend what makes a guy think it's okay to force himself on another person. I don't know if it's power or there was always something wrong with and the power enabled it to an -nth degree. In Dave's case, what makes it so aggravating is that he's seen and presented himself as someone who stands up for people that have continuously been shut down...and given a simple opportunity to extend that same kindness to a different group, he chose to go the exact opposite direction.

I think that’s where the conversation started, and @Redav’s point was that Dave’s platform makes his comments widely harmful. Nothing more, nothing less.
