I’m starting a watch from episode one as I think I started watching one season and stopped and picked it up this year. Wife and I were laughing hard because it was basically a SNL skit trying not to laugh at times.
The weirdest thing about rewatching this show is you forget it started in 2000 and was awful SD quality. That 5 or 6 year gap was so weird.
That was pretty good. Be interested to see where they pick up next season. I assume his show gets canceled and we do some new project next one.
Wow, what a perfectly crafted season. Just amazing how it all came together and Vindman on the plane was just the cherry on top.
I can't believe they wrote that shoe bit. Also mad at myself for not seeing vidman overhearing LD's trump moment a mile away lol
Wow. That was Tracy Ullman. Didn’t know that till just now. She was so good. Loved the season. Bummed about Garlin.
bummed he seems like a bad guy as well because his character on Curb is one of my favorite on television, but I'm assuming there's been no indication that his Goldbergs stuff is expected to affect Curb, right?
he's not Harvey Weinstein (he just looks like him). if nobody on the Curb set has any issues with him, I could see nothing happening.
I assumed it is impacting him and that he is going to be cancelled for awhile at least. Hollywood seems a pretty small world.
Rereading the VF article, I’m not so sure it will impact him at Curb. The article is very short on specifics, but it reads like an LD storyline from Curb. On the other hand, three years of HR investigations isn’t something to sweep under the rug either. I imagine he’ll stay on Curb unless specifics come out that make the incident(s) appear worse than he portrays in the interview. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/12/jeff-garlin-responds-to-talk-of-misbehavior-on-set
From what I've read he was a boorish asshole and people on The Goldbergs didn't like him. I'm not sure that precludes him from continuing on Curb if that crew likes or at least tolerates him
It's pretty simple - if he's created similar ill will on the curb set, he's probably done for. If not, the goldbergs situation is probably not enough to doom him with an entirely different production.
I don't think it was the GREATEST season, but I think they way they addressed pandemic stuff like hoarding, and the plays on the "perfect call" and great cameos made it very enjoyable. We haven't even addressed how excellent the terrible actor was at being a terrible actor. I mean I don't think there were any absolute classic episodes like the Palestinian chicken, but it was solid. Also when Larry went off to the dude from Northern Exposure about the absurdity of praying was an all-time bit for me. "Are you praying? So you're telling me that the son of the sick man isn't enough, but if Larry David prays, he'll say, 'Oh, OK, now I'll heal him.'" "It's as much of a waste of time as watching the Kardashians."
The klansman episode was incredible and the Mary Ferguson storyline was great throughout. Vaughn also took on a bigger role and crushed it imo
Just watched it. It was so good. The joke he told about banging his grandmother made me and my wife laugh for a full minute.
"my name is on the chair. A name should be respected." "Well, my monogram is on my towels and Leon jizzed all over them" I fucking died. I love Susie
I personally can’t wait for Jan 2020 when this returns. Things are looking up!! Good things ahead only
