Something about Larry's speech about being "a cut above" regarding his hearing, especially regarding people whispering about him being an asshole got me really good
Thought it was really funny but it felt like it just ended without really wrapping it all up which is kinda this show's thing.
I haven’t seen the most recent but when Larry finds Leon eating watermelon? Damn that was great. it also includes the Very Larry David quote: “he’s a decent Klansman, but he’s still a Klansman.”
Latest episode with the chiropractor and the lady driver was incredible. This season has been really strong so far and Vince Vaughn has fit in perfectly
Vince Vaughn is the perfect foil to Larry. The dynamic is incredible. Much prefer it to Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, and Ted Danson.
I'm not with you on the Einstein take, but I have enjoyed ol Vaughn in there. He was perfect with the shirt. Also I guess I didn't realize how bad it was to have a little extra t-shirt under my button ups. I've always kind a liked the semi-casual look of leaving the top button open. Yesterday and today I buttoned the top. So I guess I'm taking Larry David fashion advice.
I had a feeling that some would bring up Einstein, but Vince is better for me. He is just fresh and quick and so adaptable to every situation. For example in one scene he is the super intelligent and well thought out hotel businessman following best practices for success. In the next, he is perfectly mirroring Larry with contempt about his favorite shirt, and then the next agreeing with Larry about his girlfriend potentially having a major character flaw for not picking up the pirate's booty. His diversity of character is very improvisational.
Einstein was tremendous but Vaughn is as well. It's amazing they replaced him with someone as good or better
That is the nostalgia and sympathy talking. Vaughn is killing it. The only thing he lacks is the longevity.
I just caught up and was all about coming on here to talk about how gd annoying I find it that Vaughn is as good in this mix as he is but that said you go wash that mouth out with soap, sir!
I hate that I like Vaughn more. He is a douche of a person. That said, it feels like a Daniel Craig - Sean Connery situation, and for me Craig wins even though Connery gets the classic vote. As I said, he needs more longevity, but his appearances this season have all been super memorable. Maybe taboo to say, but I found Einstein annoying at times.
This little mother fucker gets a piece of ass. Which is Priceless! Then he gets $400,000 on top of that shit?!?
That scene where Suzie and Cheryl were calling bs on him was amazing And the way he laughs when asking Lewis when he's going to die
The whole thing seems pretty mild. I read thr larger Variety story and he's accused of hugging a couple people who don't like to be hugged and of making jokes on set some people found offensive. He was pretty open about it and said he stopped hugging people when they asked him to. Who knows if there's more but so far it's not what you'd expect
