you spend hundreds on virtual clothing in a basketball video game please stop lecturing everyone on economic shit you dumbass
i mean it's not A1 things we need to worry about but replacing retirement contributions people are missing out on is a very reasonable thing to do
What part of my wife has already lost her source of income and others have significant others or themselves that have already been laid off do you not understand? Spare me your disingenuous bullshit for once.
I’m so excited for my video appointment that is supposedly taking place in three hours (I’m not holding my breath at that estimate, I’m holding my breath because it hurts to breathe.)
Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar could direct companies to produce and distribute the masks under an executive ordersigned Wednesday, but Trump said it would be used for a “worst-case scenario” and hopefully wouldn’t be needed.
my mother in law has rheumatoid arthritis and is the front office manager for an oral surgery practice here in Athens. today one of their patients comes in with a broken jaw - which he got from fighting in the local jail. they ask if he's having trouble breathing, trying to screen patients. he is coughing and says that he is having difficulty breathing. they tell him he has to leave immediately, so this guy approaches her and coughs in her face.
I do have a pound of Tellicherry extra special bold peppercorns from Penzey's. I could be a god on your island, but then I'd have to live with libertarians.
I'm hopeful that you guys coming in here arguing against UBI/payments are gonna go this hard in the paint against corporate bailouts, because those are 100x more scandalous than the government giving back its citizens cash. I mean, unless you're wealthy and resentful, this is one of the few things that the left (who'd support UBI at all times) and right (who hate taxes) would support. Or am I suddenly nuts????
I get it, but it’s so complicated at this point. Shut them down and you are going to have to pay. Don’t shut them down and people will die because of their own stupidity
Justice is such an idiot that he makes DJT look like Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle all rolled into one.
People are just so fucking stupid waiting for anybody but them to make the decision. It’s soul crushing to me
Check your privilege. Now that being a coal miner or a pharmacist is no longer an option, being governor was his only means of survival.
I get that. It sucks. When taking away mortgages, cc's, cars, and all other monthly installment debt, do you need $6k a month to get by? I'm talking buying food, not 401k's.
my job contributes nothing to society and doesn’t pay a lot but luckily shoe boy is demanding i waste a quarter of my life on it because of uhhh serious reasons i am sure
They aren’t looking for guidance, they are looking for leadership. Still looking. Fuck these assholes.
That's not the point. It will jump start the economy after this, or at least prevent us all from going under. The amount literally does not matter. That's not how the financial system works/has worked in this country in a long time. Even if you don't believe that, look at the New Deal.
Let’s be serious here, Stephen Miller drew that for him. After all those years of sewing human hair on dolls his hands must be sturdier than the hands of a surgeon.
Aristotle thought the earth was the center of the universe and never acknowledged how the Earth is flat. That's fake views.
What you're suggesting would be more expensive to implement and thus an even bigger waste of resources
If I drink corona, I drink corona What I wrote was out of context but it’s a bit funny to me that people are so unconcerned about the well being of others and if the store is still open it must mean that it’s not dangerous. People should be smarter....but yeah
buddy lemme tell you now that you’re wrong because obese shoe guy says it’s actually good to loathe going to work 40 hours a week builds uhhh character
In 'normal' times I can at least understand the rationale. 'Working' is seen as being a productive member of society. But these aren't 'normal' times and I've been gainfully employed for years and years and years and a lot of folks would argue about my productivity to society so anyways, yeah.
How would putting a household cap on it and saving those extra funds to help people affected down the road be a waste of resources?
I just let autocorrect have that one. If someone wanted to worry about autocorrect at a time like this then that's they're prerogative.
In the thread a poster said that all but one of the new Taiwan cases were citizens returning from Europe. That sounds plausible. They didn’t cite a source. I hope they are correct.
This doesn't feel right to me so I'd rather do it a more expensive and less efficient way that results in everyone getting less because reasons
My bad, I just jumped into this thread and people here (my city) are mad at people still going to work since it’s a way to spread the virus.
You guys are way behind, and I hope dblplay1212 is not trying to say that people should still go to work right now
