Absolutely fantastic. They divert from the comics enough to keep those of us who have read them surprised, but also keep the spirit of the run intact.
I was hesitant at first, but, through six episodes I am on board with pretty much all the changes they made to the source material.
He’s fucking with you. It’s on Prime. Just finished. Big fan of pretty much all the changes they made to the source material. Definitely excited for Season 2
4 episodes in. Loving it. And love that they’re half way through casting season 2 before this even aired
Karl Urban as Butcher and Antony Starr as Homelander were just perfect casting. So happy it was already renewed for a second season. So much more story to tell.
Finished season 1. Great performances all around, and loved that there were no throwaway story lines or episodes with plots that didn’t build to anything. The Deep in the grocery store in Sandusky made me lol
Watched the 1st episode on a whim, show is amazing. Karl Urban finally gets to talk like a full blown Bogan and I love it.
Just binged it all today. Outstanding. The Deeps later scenes were great with the dolphin and the lobster.
Binged in a day. Fucking awesome show.... Spoiler Man but fuck episode 4's plane scene. FUCKING BRUTAL. Also, Billy's wife being alive and raising Homelander's kid..... He's in his own personal hell now. The Deep getting just dunked on the entire season after episode 1 thinking he was hot shit Can't wait for season two.
finished it over three days. thought it was really good. haven't read the comics/didn't know the story or characters.
Really couldn't care less about comic book and superhero shows/movies, which is collectively a horse beaten to a pulp. Is this different enough from pretty much everything else that it's worth watching for someone like me?
It has super heroes in it, but I wouldn’t call it a super hero show if that makes any sense. This show is not about their super heroing. It’s about how anyone in a position of power and fame can be corrupted where the business is more important than the job they do.
Just finished season 1. The guy that plays Homelander deserves an award. That guy put on one hell of a performance
He is the lead actor from Banshee, which was an awesome show as well. First three seasons were amazing.
Where does the show end compare to where the comic(s) end? I’ve never heard of “The Boys” until seeing this thread and watching it last weekend.
It makes too many changes to the source material to really compare where the two are respectively at this point.
Can't believe I didn't put that together until now. I thought the first few episodes were great and the last couple just okay.
I got a chuckle out of when he said nice accent to Butcher. I think it was a nod to the fact that both actors are actually from New Zealand.
I finally finished the last episode last night. I feel like there needs to be another half of the season but I did enjoy it thoroughly.
