Put it this way...faculty members will have an intense pedagogical debate over where to place a copy machine. I trust them to approach the decision with more rigor than someone looking for a yes man, or someone to reform the university along partisan lines, or whatever Henry's up to
He wouldn't have been FORCED to do this if you LIBERAL DEMON-RAT professors hadn't banned FREE speech from campus and ATTACKED conservatives!!!! #maga #kag #wwg1wga #qanon #jetfuelcantmeltsteelbeams
oh most definitely mcmaster knows caslen is an extremely unpopular candidate with faculty/students...but yea let's force a vote (while everyone is gone) for the guy you personally encouraged to apply. get fucked dude.
Sounds like the BoT wouldn't play ball, and I've seen big pushback against it from a couple groups on campus already, so I am thinking this goes nowhere. Some of the faculty are prepared to walk down to the BoT meeting at the Alumni Center again like last time if necessary. One guy on my Facebook feed is watching to see if any meetings get put on their conference room schedule haha
That shit's still standing there empty and all fenced off. Bad part is that Chinese Culture House is next door and almost got damaged
Is turning the warehouse next to blossom st into lofts the smartest move any developer has made in this town ever?
Repurposing old shit into college housing like everyone else has been doing for a long time isn't all that impressive
Of course not, hell, Publix did it like over 20 years ago, I just think they did a really good job with that place in particular. But, hey, fuck me.
I am hearing that T. Feaster has removed us from consideration because of the upheaval with this presidential search controversy :|
At this point I almost want Caslen to get the job so when he bombs tremendously I can rub it in the faces of the chuds but then I remember they are dumb AF and shameless and would blame the snowflakes either way.
I saw it on fb from an academic type who wouldn’t necessarily know their sports. If you didn’t see anything on TBS probably bs. I’d like for us to get feaster. We need help at rb
Then we will discover Feaster really isn’t that good, he just played in the best offense in college football.
an academic type knowing who Feaster is... that’s kinda something could they have been involved in his recruitment?
*TC walks up to water cooler* "Feaster eyes on this football prospect, fellow academic type" - Academic Type who works with TC "Wow I didn't know you were also a sports type" - TC "Yes, I also hate military and Christians" - Academic Type "Heil Pelosi" - TC
There’s a group on fb for people to freak out over every little news item. That’s where I saw it. “Friends of USC for a fair process” or some such
guy is saying his friend heard on 107.5 the potential accreditation issue has Feaster looking elsewhere lol
I heard on local radio radio here last week, he's all but a vatech lock. Something about our coaches practically quit talking well before the dead dead period started
I'd say the combined mood I've seen from students, alumni and faculty on social media is outrage and a focus on the idea of going after the composition of the BoT next. I have mixed feelings. We had a military president before (Admiral Norman Smith during WWII). Maybe this guy could do some good things here. I hate how this was done though. And personally this is not the direction I think we need to go after the momentum Pastides created. This is basically hiring Paul Johnson after Mike Leach
“A lot of the people that are demonstrating are from out of town. I heard some of that Kamala Harris crowd is there...got this thing all tied into the Democratic primary.” -USC Board of Trustees member AC "Bubba" Fennell caught on a hot mic
University of Iowa had something like this happen in 2015 when they railroaded through a business guy to be president. They got sanctioned by the AAUP (American Association of University Professors) and this is what happened subsequently: "The University of Iowa, which was placed on probation, has seen their U.S.News and World Report ranking slip from #64 to #71 to #89 in just a few years. Iowa has also experienced departures of top faculty and a subsequent decline in its National Science Foundation funding ranking—from #39 in 2010 to #49 today and its National Institutes of Health funding ranking—from #34 in 2012 to #42 today." The guy is still president and the sanctions have now been removed, but it sounds to me like the damage was done.
New pres has been announced on Facebook and Twitter...I'm sure @UofSC is about to take all kinds of abuse
Jesus. I just saw Pastides was making $160,000 a year to be a director of Synovus in addition to his role at USC. Have to love capitalism.
I guess I just don’t understand why Caslen would take the job. At this point, the students and faculty are just going to oppose you just to oppose you. Makes it nearly impossible to do a great job.
