Too early to start talking about the playoff picture? -Atlantic is pretty cut and dried. Tampa, Boston, and Toronto are getting in. Wasn't expecting Boston to catch up to Tampa, though. -Metro very likely getting 5 in unless the Panthers make it interesting. No team truly out of it which is pretty remarkable this late. The difference in goal differential between the top team in the division and the bottom is 20 which is ridiculous to me. -Teams 4-11 in the west are all so close still you can basically throw them in a hat at this point.
I left the door open for them because even though they have 54 points they have 2 less games in hand than anyone else in the league. Never know I guess
yea, I know, most panther fans won't stop repeating it. and I keep reminding them that even with the two games in hand they still need to win those games and make sure they don't lose any games on nights the teams they are chasing win. its a lot more complicated than being 4 points out with 2 games in hand.
What a crazy schedule to end the year they have actually. It's like every team they play is either a buzzsaw or a doormat 10 Games against Vancouver Buffalo Montreal Ottawa Edmonton Arizona 12 games against: Winnipeg Toronto Washington Pittsburgh Tampa Nashville
I’m in a group text with my closest friends, we’re all penguin fans actually(the one guy with family in Pittsburgh got us all into them). That happened and my phone starts blowing up while I’m at work. Like Malkin greatest alive etc. good times.
Canucks are such a weird team. Lose 4 in a row, then beat the stars 6-0. Lose the next 2 and now up 4-0 on the bruins in the 1st.
That shot by Giroux, damn. Skating backwards, offwing and snipes it top cheese. Goalie never had a chance.
Every smart Rangers fan knew this was coming. This team has been held up by Lundqvist for years. Without him this team is Arizona level bad.
We better load up on draft picks at this deadline and accept being terrible not only this season but at least one or two more seasons. No more quick fixes and no more giving away picks for veterans. Also so long to this worthless coaching staff.
I'd imagine playing offense is a whole lot easier when forwards know defensemen cant send them skates up
Interested to see what the Pens do at the deadline. Apparently Ian Cole has played himself off the trading block and Matt Hunwick is expected to be moved instead to free up cap space (Pittsburgh has less than $1M right now, but that is also partially due to injuries leading to AHL call-ups). Jim Rutherford said that they are in "win-now mode" and will only sacrifice picks/prospects if it involves players staying with the organization past this season sooo I guess that takes Evander Kane out of the equation (I didn't want him anyway due to the reported asking price). I expect a relatively minor deal. Also, Jarry/DeSmith have been fantastic filling in for Murray. The team seems like they're hitting their stride at a good time.
Not talking defensive defensemen but the Erik Karlsson types. I’m guessing they’re not offensively effective because they don’t have enough power on their shots from the point. Anyone that is highly skilled offensively probably just plays forward.
Who do you prefer? I think mrazek still has a chance of being a good starter. Not too old and can be solid for a stretch, he just seems inconsistent a bit
I'm pretty meh on both of them. neither makes the Flyers a cup contender so I'll take whichever costs less.
Pacioretty would have been my guess a few weeks ago. but with the way the team is playing right now I wouldn’t be surprised if Rutherford upgrades a D or the 4th line instead. At this point any big move the pens made I would think would have to be a too good to pass up type thing.
Yeah Sheahan finally playing well minimizes any need for a major change. Another name that has been thrown around for a bit is Cullen.
