Goalies just need to quit going down in those instances, players always dive and it's always a penalty.
No idea how the commentators are acting like it wasn't a dive. Therein lies the problem of penalties for shit like that.
Shit I had the gamecast up on my phone and it was 1-0. Look away for like 5 minutes and now it's 3-1. Patiently waiting for highlights
Anyone see the run of games Chelsea has coming up? Barcelona United City Palace Barcelona Burnley Spurs Holy shit
The intent of the rule is to not give an unfair advantage to the attacker. That’s why are other bullet points to the rule and why you see referees like Mark Clattenburg and Keith Hackett clearly saying that it should have been offside. Kane’s positioning clearly interferes with Lovren’s ability to clear the ball.
Liverpool were screwed but who gives a fuck what Clattenburg, Hackett, Graham Poll, United's own Mike Riley, or any of the other Brit cunt refs think; they all suck. VAR has flaws but it's needed, even though they'll still screw up a ton of big calls.
Also wish the penalty box would be more like a 3 point arc but that's such a radical change that there's no way it will happen
Change it to indirect free kicks. We all deserve more indirect free kicks 10 yards from goal and the hilarity that ensues.
We're just pulling an Uncle Phil to lull these teams into a false sense of security, 'bout to break out Lucille. Also Wu 's EPL thread titles have been sorely missed, glad he is back.
Dejan should’ve cleared it but common sense tells you Kane is offside. Also the fact Kane isn’t being called out for diving by the British media is a joke.
Not sure if I missed it, but did anyone post yesterday about Watford's pen, essentially the same tactic? If the goalie is going to dive inches in front of me, it's not my job to get out of his way, I'll just keep running.
I meant what is the intent of the rule that it's not offside if a defender deliberately plays the ball? Does the rule not apply if the defender panics and mishits a ball that 99% of players would successfully clear?
It’s meant for plays like this. Where the second to last defender to touch the ball wasn’t under pressure by the offside attacker and just made a dumb decision to head the ball back into his own teams box.
Yes. Otherwise you’re offside based on the the other standards of the rule you’re ignoring: A player is in an offside position by: Challenging an opponent for the ball or Clearly attempting to play a ball which is close to him when this action impacts on an opponent.
I have a huge problem with how long it’s taken in matches it’s been used. It’s the same shit with football (American), it takes way too fucking long.
I have enjoyed it being enforced so far from what I’ve seen that if you motion for VAR it’s an automatic yellow
