should've gone with wargame : red dragon, which is a fun game with a very active multiplayer community. the singleplayer in these games is not so great, mainly bc the AI is crude. but multiplayer is great.

steam name is finnandr1 Mostly play fm17 and paradox games but have recently gotten into PUBG and bought Squad (holy learning curve) and CSGO.
New expansion has really improved the game (like almost all Paradox, theyre basically stable betas at launch) imo. Just held off the Germans as the Czechs until 1940 then, not so great...
i spend entirely too much time playing / modding FM17 currently building a mod that eliminates the MLS entirely and makes a 2-conference NASL the top league, with no foreign player restrictions.
Any of y'all play Outside of the Park Baseball? Thinking about jumping on it, brand new 2018 version on sale for half price, $20.
Getting close to pulling the trigger on a new laptop. Thoughts on this one? http://a.co/hQj3o5e I like the basic look the case has. Just dont know much about the brand.
is there a particular reason you're buying a "gaming" laptop? because you could spend $400 on a laptop that can do pretty much any internet/work stuff and then $1100 on a substantially more powerful pc. although the video card shortage might ruin that
I'm not a big laptop guy either, but that one does seem pretty legit if you're going in that direction.
After seeing some games on my buddy's computer, I think it's time to upgrade my video card. I got some NVidia card right now. I'll probably build a new PC when Red Dead 2 comes to PC.
unless you're buying a 1080, i would wait to buy a new card. miners drove prices up and i wouldn't buy a used video card
Exclusives of any kind are the worst. Especially in this day when consoles aren't specialized hardware/software but just PCs.
I'm assuming they will do the same thing they did for GTA5. Release the polished final copy for PC in a few years.
i too need to build a new pc, probably do it next summer after i move but already scoping around a little knowing what'll have dropped by then
Since it was bumped... Although the video card shortage ruins building your own at certain budget levels, the prebuilts are actually pretty amazing value right now and still have those cards: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/prod...ddcwrdsk926samd?oc=ddcwrdsk926samd&l=en&s=dhs
i just looked up the 290x online apparently they are going for like $400 used on amazon? uh what? i didnt think people would want an older card like that for mining
Whats your budget, tenkey or tenkeyless? Preference on switches? I have a CoolerMaster Storm QuickFire Rapid (tenkeyless) with MX Browns and it's very good (and cheap) I would stick with Das, Ducky, Corsair, or CoolerMaster on a brand. Stay away from Razer.
def tenkey. i would like to spend less than the cost of a k95 or i would just go with that. there's ok sales on k70s and masterkeys on amazon right now so i may do one of those. so i guess i'm looking at a budget of about $100 or so
Should be an easy decision then. Not many mechanicals out there for under $100. I think I paid $85 for mine but it's TKL
Would definitely recommend thinking again about TKL, I've never missed the number pad and the extra space is amazing especially when playing games.
I have an older model of this and I love it. Looks like Amazon links are down? It's called: Max Keyboard Nighthawk Pro X Programmable Mechanical Keyboard, Backlit Multicolor LED, Cherry MX RGB Brown Switch httpsCOLON//www.amazon.com/Max-Nighthawk-Pro-Programmable-Blue/dp/B01LRXHEES I love mx cherry browns. For me it's the perfect mix for gaming and everyday use.
Bought an AOC - AG271QG 27.0" 2560x1440 165Hz Monitor to go along with the 1080TI and The Witcher, for example, is amazing.
was hoping to get something large and 4k during the best buy sale but it looks like they're already sold out
Not yet, but... https://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/06/asus-will-apparently-have-the-worlds-first-144hz-4k-monitor/
Well my steam link has gotten completely fucked. I barely used it for games anymore, more for running Kodi on my pc and mirroring on the TV. Just reboots after 20 seconds of streaming. I know some people figured out the ideal link+controller setup but it never felt great for me, even for strategy games, let alone shooters
I'm unsure of what I want. I want a monitor and a computer to play PUBG, and I want them both to be quality products. I also don't want to spend a ton of money, but from all the looking I've done, that seems like an unlikely outcome. Are gaming laptops more cost effective?
Not really. You can probably get a monitor and do a budget build for about the same price as a laptop.
How much are you looking to spend? There are so many custom builds on pcpartpicker, you could spend a year on there getting your build exactly how you want. I spend most of my money on peripherals because those are more of a constant. I've had the same 24" Asus 144Hz monitor across two different PC builds. Same with my keyboard and one of my mice. I never skimp on the PC itself either, but I also don't pay premium for the newest and best parts. Most of my rigs are future proofed for 3-4 years. I have noticed with my last rig though that my 780 Ti is still ample for any game out that I care about playing.
I was thinking anywhere between 1600 to 2000, but I'm aware that those prices don't exactly include a monitor.
