£43 million is better than what I first saw. As long as they still bolster the back 5 I'm fine with it but if it takes funds away from fullbacks and a new keeper that's a problem. Rumor has it they will also be announcing Fabinho and Walker tomorrow. I've seen that we are going after Fabinho but also saw Mendy so not sure if we are going after both of them, either of them or what
I think I brought that up in here or in the EPL thread a week or 2 ago. I just don't see it with him. If he's 19 or 20 and flashes like he has I might get it but at his age he has shown absolutely no consistency. Not even sure why a club bigger than Everton want him at over £100k a week let alone that outrageous fee. I get the England markup but if someone pays more for Barkley than City just did for Silva then they deserve what happens next.
That is a steal. In this crazy market that is great value. If the other 2 happen as well that will make city a hell of a lot better going into next year. I am skeptical that they can get a deal for Walker done this early though. Levy will drag it out like he always does and city will most likely pay extra because they can.
Mendy has always played on the left side, primarily at LB, but occasionally at LM. Fabinho is almost always in a defensive mid position...very rarely he will play RB, but only when Sidibe needed a day off. point is, getting both wouldn't be an issue imo. get Mendy as LB, Walker at RB, and plop Fabinho and Silva in MF.
City 20 year old ST Enes Ünal will go on loan to Valencia with a €40m option to buy. Was on loan at FC Twente last season
I love Mendy, I truly hope no English side gets him. Sidibe is great and all but Mendy just seems a Marcelo-esque talent every time I watch him.
My bad, should know better than to say anything that isn't official. Now rumors that he will go to Villareal for €10m with a €25m buy back. Also Valencia want to keep Mangala, City want €18m but Valencia want a discount. Lots more talk about Mendy and Ederson
Twitter just blew up with reports of Perisic turning down PSG in favor of Man United. €45m is the number thats been appearing most often.
Looks like dom solanke to Liverpool is locked up. Estimating that the tribunal will award chelsea £3m for him. Steal for Liverpool. Not sure where everything broke down so badly with chelsea but with Tammy Abraham in the fold it's not too big a loss.
You can argue that city don't always sign the right players but they have been quick and decisive in the market as of late. Jesus, sane and Silva are young studs. We will see what they do with their defense but I have been impressed with how they have done business as of late. I think the manager and the main transfer guy being close from the Barca days really helps.
Lots of talk of #Manchester City entering the Alexis Sanchez race. I know the link below is from goal.com but I have seen the rumor at other places as well but not in English: http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...eat-bayern-to-alexis-after-talks?ICID=HP_HN_1
Yeah I saw that as well. Not sure if someone is being sold for that to happen because I'm not sure how you find playing time for all of Alexis/Sané/Sterling/Bernardo Silva/Nolito out wide. I would assume Nolito is gone at that point but I'd think someone else might need sold also
So looks like Musacchio (cb), Kessie (cm), Rodriguez (lb) will be done by the end of the week if not already. Morata could be closed sometime next week... Tolisso to Milan is getting closer... A meeting is set up for next week. We are closing in on a deal for Conti De Siglio to Juve almost done Bacca also on his way out.
Fact checked so Higuain is he current highest paid guy at $7.5 mil and Milan is going to pay Morata more? De Rossi was the only person close and he just went out of contract and is likely signing on reduced wages.
wow at Tolisso. Love that guy. Helluva signing. Lots of rumors of strikers being linked with Lyon. With Lacazette leaving I've seen Germain (Monaco), Bacca, and Chicarito linked recently.
With the teams interested in Morata, he was going to get paid by someone. Milan's other options for a high level striker are Aubemayang and Belotti. One is old and wants 12M/year, the other has only one good season to go off of and Torino wants the same kind of transfer fee or more as Morata, who is CL and Serie A proven. It's a high transfer fee and crazy wages, but that's the world we live in now. I like literally everything the new management has done so far, if they close on Morata, Conti, Biglia, Keita, and Tolisso I will ejaculate.
Must be nice to have that Chinese money. I just got to hope Roma's sad American/CL money will keep almost everyone around. Strootman and DDR have signed new deals. Spalletti already bolted for a paycheck to coach a team captained by Mauro Icardi. Good luck lasting 6 months there Spalletti.
It's the one last good deed Berlusconi did for Milan. He made sure that whoever bought the club would be able to invest between 200 and 300M into the club within the first couple years of ownership. China is also considering easing their regulations on foreign investment, so that might open the floodgates even more. Currently, Milan's new owners had to go through the United States to get money into Italy for this transfer window, but being able to send direct investment will change the game even more.
A rising Milan will raise all clubs in Italy. All due respect to Juventus, they are a provincial side and a placeholder while Milan gets its shit together.
There's been chatter that people think some Chinese investors may make a play for Newcastle at some point.
Italy really needs to stop being dicks about building stadiums. That would change the league in a huge way, but it seems like it is hard to even put up a tent in Italy.
I dont understand why this hasnt happened already. Huge club support, great stadium, tradition, etc. Just a sleeping giant waiting to be taken over. Same with Leeds to a lesser extent.
Because no one can get a good deal is my guess. Ashley will squeeze every penny out of anyone that wants to buy
Government bullshit. Roma have been trying for 3 years and have final approval, but now are waiting another year after the city changed the building plans drastically.
The cities own the stadiums, charge the clubs rent to use them, and then make it difficult for the clubs to buy new land or get permits for construction. Italy is just a corrupt shit hole.
