I like to see posts here about what's going on in other states. It's tough to drill down to that level because major news outlets don't cover that level. Ohio has statewide races coinciding with both Congressional midterms and Sherrod Brown's Senate seat in 2018. Kasich is term limited as governor. Former US Senator and current Ohio AG Mike Dewine is running as the R. Current Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel is seeking Brown's Senate seat. Brown beat him in 2012. No one knows if Kasich goes for this spot. The D side of things could get really interesting. Speculation that former congressman Dennis Kucinich is looking at the Governor race. He is a flaming liberal loved by organized labor. Former AG Richard Cordray is currently the Obama-appointed director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and will be out of a job soon. Most think he runs as AG. Governor, AG, and Senate could see three of Ohio's most liberal candidates in a while. All three play really well with the union vote that killed Clinton in 2016.
Arizona is on a roll Now the Arizona Department of Corrections has issued a revised procedures manual that says death row inmates, through their lawyers or other representatives, can provide their own pentobarbital or sodium pentothal to ensure a smooth execution. Not only is that illegal — only doctors and pharmacists can obtain the deadly drugs — but it's unethical, says Dale Baich, an Arizona public defender who is embroiled in a lawsuit against the state over Wood's death. The department has not commented on the policy.
I often wonder if lot of the stories hundreds year old tales we see on in movies, books, and television that show the lives of the well to do make the common worker think they're somehow descendant of that when their ancestors were likely covered in shit toiling away in the fields living in huts.
That thread really bothers me. She said awful things about the KKK and Muslims, but none of that matters because she doesn't give guys boners anymore.
TBH I think Jenna Jameson was one of the first pornstars to actually take control of her career and brand and got famous af for it.
I agree, but I figured that might cause a shit storm of disagreement and I didn't want to go down that path.
I think it's a bit different. Her job definition was to be physically desirable. She isn't going to be able to fulfill those requirements for most folks these days. That's not to say the responses here wouldn't be the same if she were a nuclear physicist, but commenting on the physical appeal of a porn star is actually commenting on their job performance.
I'm failing to see the misogyny, outside of a handful of posts, in a thread where people are talking about porn. Saying 'Holy shit she looks like Mickey Rourke' is not misogynistic, it's just observing that she had a bunch of crazy plastic surgery. I don't see how it's any different than saying wtf happened to carrot top or wtf happened to michael jackson
Personally I think that's wildly hyperbolic, but you're free to think however you want. I have to assume that you think any discussion on porn is misogynistic. Frankly I think your stance is counter productive to any positive change you're hoping for.
As an unbiased observer cfb seems unfair and the wealth pools at the top. As a UGA fan... lol fuck Ole Miss
I think 99% of porn is wildly misogynistic, though I'm not surprised by it. Quite honestly, I don't give a shit if people think it's counter-productive.
Fair enough...I just see it as a fool's errand to get offended over something so relatively innocuous. It's like the opposite side of the coin to some shitty MRA argument.
I was a Senate aide in the Ohio Legislature when he began his political comeback after spending about 10 years out of office. He's a loose cannon in a way that makes Bernie Sanders seem establishment. He's a Fox News regular now, and has been way more pro-Trump than anyone imagined.
i saw something like this the other day, contrasting the millions that die every year from starvation, lack of clean water, and preventable disease with the 94 million that communism allegedly killed
Here's a halfassed treatise on US implicated deaths alone http://www.petersaysstuff.com/2014/05/attempting-the-impossible-calculating-capitalisms-death-toll/
I mean Mike "So deep in the closet he's finding Christmas Presents" Pence was his running mate. How the fuck did people not see this coming?
No country that had experimented with communism has ever had a classless society, or eliminated a massive poor underclass.
idk i dont think .jpg images can field questions but stalin starved like 6 million people to death in ukraine, brah
Pure communism would work about as well as pure capitalism, fortunately there's a middle ground that our major allies seem to have embraced. Unfortunately our leadership is shit and the mere fact that we manage to get by is enough to keep them satisfied.
I regret using the word offended, I just think reading that thread and having the takeaway that it's wildly misogynistic is a reach.
Fair enough. There's no doubt that I'm left of most of the folks on this board with regards to feminism. College football fans aren't really known for their feminism, admittedly.
They're doing this because it's difficult for the state to acquire those drugs. What it amounts to is the 1980s PRC policy of billing the family of the deceased for the 9mm used to carry out the execution. Dark shit right there.
In our defense, we've got to be about the most feminist group of college football posters on the internet. And imo, practicality matters on a subject like this. This isn't a very good example, but I'd say it would be similar to looking at a college football discussion and claiming everyone involved in the discussion is tacitly endorsing child abuse and exploitation. I'm not sure that's incorrect, but I'd say it's an impractical way to highlight any problems.
Sweet Jesus, you are one miserable, humorless cunt. You really come off like a grad student cliche. Make sure to let us all know what you're drinking again the next time you decry contrived social mores, as the junior higher in all of us salutes your ability to consume alcohol. Sick, bro.
