It really was. To dominate the first part of the match so well it really hurt to give it away. It felt like the top four was within reach the first 20 minutes.
I really feel sorry for you guys. I didn't watch so in my mind it never happened. To me we just knocked out United and I feel great.

I have learned to temper my expectations because I feel like every time we get our hopes up and we get close, we have some monumental collapse to screw the pooch. Thought it was pretty telling that Jurgen didnt bring Hendo on. Also, was Lucas on the bench? Still think we would have preserved the lead if we did a Lucas for Sturridge sub around 60'.
I just wish we would have put Kolo on instead of Skrtel. I just can't get over how bad that display was from Skrtel. That might have been the worst single defensive performance I've ever seen.

Flights right now for that week are crazy expensive right now. Hope they come down so I have a shot at going to at least one of them.
If we got half that, it'd be a steal. I actually wonder how much we'll get in sales this summer, I expect at least 5-6 players to go.
Couple that with some early signings indicating a more frugal approach to our transfers, I'm cautiously optimistic. Along with hopefully no more overpaid English players. Need one or two big signings with quality sprinkled in.
The most plausible big signing I've seen us linked with was Gotze but I'm not sure he fits with what we have.

Rumor out there of Sturridge to PSG for £45 million. As much as I like Sturridge and don't see anyone paying that much for him, that would be a huge piece of business.

Gotze can be awesome, but he can also be hurt a lot and plays a position that is currently filled by our best player. If we're dropping 20 mil on someone, I'd rather it be ter Stegen.
